Elephant Conservation Talk by Don Pinnock

Meet starts at 18h00 for soup and book sales and will be followed by the talk set to start promptly at 18h45 - 20h00

This is an Eco-Sattva Event.

Don Pinnock is an investigative journalist, UCT Professor of Criminology and past editor of Getaway magazine. Don recently published a book, together with Colin Bell titled “The Last Elephants”. The book aims to create awareness of the devastating loss of elephant lives in Africa and stem the tide of poaching and hunting. The reality is that every 15 minutes, of every day, every week and every month somewhere in Africa an elephant is poached. It's a staggering thought that without intervention elephants will become extinct in 30 years.

Don has agreed to talk to us about his work with elephant conservation and share some of his experience and insights about poaching.

The book "The Last Elephants" which normally retails at R480.00 will be on sale for R350.00

Entrance is R60.00 and funds generated will be donated to The Conservation Action Trust.
